As one of the most peaceful counties in England, Shropshire has some beautiful and idyllic landscapes on offer. It's long history has given us many hillforts and more than 32 castles, each with a unique story to tell. As the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, there's no shortage of fascinating museums, one of the most popular being the RAF museum in Cosford.
Within Shropshire, there are many interesting and pretty towns to visit. The market towns offer a unique shopping experience, with traditional shops mixed with modern stores. Shrewsbury, the birthplace of Charles Darwin, has the longest running flower show in England. The tiny town of Much Wenlock is the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games. The idyllic town of Bridgnorth, which Charles I declared had "the finest view in all my Kingdom".
